The Buckner Company Celebrates 75 Years of Success

 

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH—In the midst of the Great Depression, when many businesses were failing and commodities were scarce nationwide, E.R. Buckner did the unthinkable—he started his own business selling insurance.  Computers and fax machines were futuristic in 1936 and Buckner carried his first policy in his briefcase.  The rest, as they say, is history.

 

Buckner went on to see great success with his hands-on approach at helping businesses and families purchase insurance policies that were tailored to their specific needs.  His business, then based in Ogden, Utah, gained a solid reputation for its integrity and commitment to excellence.

As The Buckner Company celebrates its 75th Anniversary, current President and CEO, Terry Buckner, reminisces on his grandfather’s work ethic.  “I don’t think my Grandpa had a clue that his humble business of selling insurance would grow to become what it is today.  He’d be astounded to see that two generations later, this business is thriving.  I have no doubt that our success has been a direct result of the values that he practiced as the foundation of this business was built.  These are values that we continue to embrace today.”

The Buckner Company, which began with one man, now employs 112 people in three offices and two states.  Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, with a branch office in Ogden, Utah, The Buckner Company was pleased to open a third location in Idaho Fall, Idaho in 2010.  Plans to expand further in Idaho are in the works.  The Buckner Company looks forward to continued growth throughout Idaho and neighboring states.
