J. David Wittwer, CIC, CRM recently joined The Buckner Company as Sr. Account Executive. Dave brings with him an insurance practice encompassing a wide range of diverse industries primarily devoted to commercial accounts and financial services. His clients range from BOP accounts (Business Owners Policies) to large, complex regional and national accounts. Additionally, Dave is active in developing rent-a-captive programs and other such alternative market programs.

Prior to The Buckner Company, Dave served as the Managing Partner of Wittwer, King & Leavitt Insurance Agency, Inc. Dave has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Utah. He also has received the CIC (Certified Insurance Counselors) designation in 1995 and then the CRM (Certified Risk Managers) designation in 2005.

A 3 time recipient of the Leavitt Group’s Million Dollar Producer, Dave was awarded the honor in 1999, 2000 and 2004. Since 2004, Dave has been teaching CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representatives) classes, as well as lecturing nationally on a variety of insurance and risk management topics.

He is an active private equity investor and board member in a mixture of commercial interests. Politics, golf and a love of sports; including coaching football and baseball, also keep Dave busy in his community.

Dave’s inspiration and greatest blessing in life is his sweetheart of 19 years, Sherri Devashrayee Wittwer and their four children: three boys and one girl.
