Travelers Names The Buckner Company Agent of the Year
for the Western Region

The Travelers Companies, Inc. has named Terry Buckner of the Buckner Company in Salt Lake City, Utah, as a recipient of its prestigious Insurance Agent of the Year Award. The award was presented by Travelers on March 20 at the company’s annual personal insurance leadership conference for top independent agents and brokers in Naples, Florida.

“Terry Buckner, and the other Agent of the Year award winners, have done what it takes to be successful while holding true to the values shared in our industry,” said Joseph P. The Buckner Company, a family business, was established 70 years ago. In 1988 Terry purchased the agency from his father & his uncle. Terry has developed his agency based on the principles of honesty and integrity. Under his leadership, the Buckner Company has grown more than 500% over the past seven years. The change in growth began with the first acquisition in 2000. Since then they have continued to grow through added volume and acquisitions, increasing its staff from 12 employees to more than 90 today. Terry is an active participant in the community, currently serving on the Board of Governors for the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce. In his spare time, Terry enjoys the mountain landscape while biking, hiking and skiing with his wife.
