Position: Executive Vice President and COO
Mark Oligschlaeger serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief
Operations Officer for The Buckner Company.
Prior to joining The Buckner Company, Mark worked for Leucadia National Corporation from 1998 to 2010. In
his most recent position with Leucadia, Mark served as the Vice President of their development entity, where
he oversaw several large development projects in Colorado, Florida, and Utah. Mark also helped Leucadia with
acquisitions and investments.
Earlier in his career, Mark worked for Leucadia’s Asset Management Group, where his task was to direct the
restructuring of operations for Empire Insurance Group, a property and casualty insurance subsidiary located in
New York. Mark also assisted his employer in other acquisition opportunities in the U.S. and abroad.
Mark was a magna cum laude graduate of Brigham Young University. He continued his education by also
receiving a Master of Business Administration, with a Finance emphasis, from BYU’s Marriott School of Management. As
a graduate student, Mark earned the designation of Hawes Scholar, the highest distinction awarded to an MBA
student.
Mark and his wife, Shae, are parents to four children. Mark enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and training for
triathlons. He resides in Centerville, Utah.
